The Black Diamond Approach Down Hoodie has a premium down fill that heats us up without weighing us down. This puffy features high-loft, low-weight 800-fill goose down that's responsibly sourced and treated for water resistance, so it's lighter, more packable, and less susceptible to loft-killing moisture than most puffies. The Approach easily slips over our baselayer and under our harness with its slim fit, which also layers well under a shell if we need to add warmth to our waterproof setup for alpine and ice climbing. We also like how this hoodie packs down small in its front pocket, letting us attach it easily to our harness with a carabiner clip or stuff it down in our pack.
