Product Details
The Patagonia Men’s Nano-Air Insulated Hoody is an active-insulation jacket designed for high-output activities in cool conditions. Unlike traditional insulated jackets that prioritize static warmth, the Nano-Air focuses on breathability and stretch, allowing it to remain comfortable during continuous movement such as hiking, climbing, ski touring, or backcountry travel. At the core of the jacket is 60-gram FullRange® synthetic insulation, a proprietary material designed to maintain warmth while allowing excess heat and moisture to escape. This insulation works together with an air-permeable shell and lining to create a balance between insulation and ventilation. The result is a jacket that can often remain on throughout stop-and-go activities without requiring frequent layering changes. The shell and lining use a recycled polyester ripstop fabric with mechanical stretch, providing both durability and freedom of movement. This stretch construction allows the jacket to move naturally with the body during dynamic activities such as scrambling, climbing, or skiing. A durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment helps shed light moisture and snow, although the garment is not designed as a waterproof shell. The hooded design adds additional warmth and weather protection, while the articulated construction helps maintain comfort in active positions. Overall, the Nano-Air Hoody is built as a breathable midlayer or outer layer for aerobic activities in cool to cold environments where managing heat and moisture is as important as insulation.
