Product Details
Product Details
The Patagonia Women’s Upstride Jacket is a lightweight softshell designed for high-output winter activities such as ski touring, splitboarding, and fast alpine travel. Instead of focusing on maximum storm protection, the jacket prioritizes breathability, stretch mobility, and moisture management during sustained uphill movement in cold mountain environments. The jacket is constructed from a stretch-knit softshell fabric made from 100% recycled polyester, bonded to an internal knit grid backer. This design allows the fabric to stretch with body movement while helping moisture move away from the skin during intense activity. The material remains highly breathable and comfortable when worn directly over base layers. A PFC-free durable water-repellent (DWR) finish provides light protection from snow and surface moisture. Unlike traditional ski shells, the Upstride Jacket is weather-resistant rather than fully waterproof, allowing greater airflow and heat release during climbs. This makes it particularly suited to ski touring in predictable weather, spring conditions, or other situations where overheating can be a concern. The stretch construction and athletic fit allow unrestricted movement while skinning uphill or navigating technical terrain. The jacket includes an adjustable fixed hood with a laminated visor, designed for comfort during ascents without a helmet but capable of stretching over low-profile helmets during descents. Two oversized zippered chest pockets double as ventilation openings and provide storage for essentials or climbing skins. A concealed RECCO® reflector is integrated for avalanche rescue compatibility. Overall, the Women’s Upstride Jacket is intended for ski tourers and alpine athletes who prioritize lightweight performance, breathability, and mobility during long climbs and high-output winter travel.
